It’s hard to think you can dominate a minor-league level more than former Catholic High School star Tyler Clark did so far this season. Now, Clark, a righthander in the Detroit Tigers organization, is getting reward for it — a promotion to Double-A.
Clark, who was a 24th round pick in the 2010 draft out of the University of Missouri, will report to Double-A Erie of the Eastern League, he told TAGsgf.com Monday. It’s the same league as former Missouri State players Mike Kickham and Matt Lawson play in.
Clark emerged as not only a solid reliever for High-A Lakeland, but he turned in a dominant closer, picking up 9 saves in 9 chances and accumulating a 0.63 ERA in 42 2/3 innings. He struck out 59, walked 17 and allowed 19 hits, all while allowing just 3 earned runs and one home run. Opponents batted .137 against him.
