With sights set on providing south SGF an upscale restaurant and music venue Tier 3‘s renovations transformed the former New Key Largo — which mostly resembled a barn — into an incredible three level experience. “We totally gutted the place and started over,” says owner Adam Kaltenbach. “The first time somebody walks in and sees what we’ve done with it and who knows what Key Largo used to look like, they can’t believe it’s the same place.”
Tier 3 will celebrate its grand opening Friday (June 15) with live music (Machine Gun Symphonyand Tripleshot), food and drink specials all night, plus free appetizers from 7-9:30 p.m.
Tucked away on Republic Road (1281 E Republic Rd) — between Fremont and National, those familiar with the spot will partly recognize the lowest level. The rest of the interior, however, is completely new chapter. A full kitchen and two additional “tiers” provide different levels of ambiance.
Tier 1 (lowest level): standard bar area, high top tables, dancefloor, stage
Tier 2 (second level): second bar, dining, view of stage
Tier 3 (top level): couches, loveseats, lounge
Tier 3 is open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-close with live entertainment Wednesday-Saturday (acoustic acts Wed., Thurs., bands Fri.-Sat.).
Full disclosure: Tier 3 is a sponsor of SGF Local Live, part of TAG Radio Sundays at 8 p.m. on KBFL (99.9 FM, 1060 AM).
