School is back in session, which means big-ticket concert booking begins again in earnest. JQH Arena threw its hat back into the show ring this morning with announcement that country starlet Miranda Lambert is coming to perform Friday, October 21 together with opening acts Justin Moore and The Randy Rogers Band. Lambert’s star rose quickly after her third-place finish on Nashville Star in 2003. Her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, shot her into the category of Nashville’s “it” performers, a position only reinforced by the release of Revolution in 2009. She’s also part of one of Nashville’s “it” couples courtesy of her marriage to fellow country singer Blake Shelton, a development that gets her on even more magazine covers and got Chad Kroeger of Nickelback jacked up. Lastly, her résumé is loaded with award wins and nominations, including several Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards as well as a Grammy win this year for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for the song “The House That Built Me.” Moore and Rogers are not to be slept on, either, having achieved considerable chart success in their own right, with Moore releasing a slew of #1 songs including “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” and “Small Town USA” and Rogers reaching #2 on the albums chart with current record Burning the Day.
Tickets for the concert are $27.75 to $45.75, depending on seating location, and they’ll go on sale August 26 at 10 a.m. You can get them by calling the arena’s ticket office at 417-836-7678 or on Missouri State Tix.
