The Freak is back. Seldom seen the last couple of years except for appearances during the In Chains tribute concerts to Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley organized by lead singer Nate White, the hard-rock band formed from the remains of local metal powerhouse Avarice came back on radar with some good news for fans. According to the band’s recently launched Facebook page, Brand of Freak’s long-awaited self-titled record, recorded with SGF rock legend turned successful producer Jim Wirt, is complete and will be released digitally August 11. Hopefully a new album means new shows to promote it, too; it has certainly been a while. Stay tuned for more details on that as they become available.
