It appears the closing of the Springfield Borders bookstore is moving more swiftly than anyone saw coming. Word came late last night from Queen City Shout organizer and former Borders employee Eddie Gumucio that the coffee shop inside the store that housed QCS’s local band showcases is now closed. Where Gumucio previously thought the concerts would be able to go on in the store as planned through the end of the month, he now says all remaining shows have been moved to Big Momma’s Coffee & Espresso Bar (217 E. Commercial St.) beginning with tonight’s performance by Two Wheel Neil. The dates and times will remain the same as when they were booked, so tonight’s Big Momma’s show will begin at 7:30 p.m. To see who is set to play the shows still to come click here.
