The Missouri State Lady Bears signed two players Wednesday, again, proving their commitment to local talent.
Kenzie Williams, a 5-foot-11 guard from Mount Vernon, helped the Lady Mountaineers to a Class 3 championship as a junior. A versatile threat, Williams averaged 17.6 rebounds, 5.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She was a first-team all-state player, and joins other local recruits like Casey Garrison (Bolivar), Lacey Boshe (Marshfield), Whitney Edie (Exeter), Aly Stock (Nixa) and Hannah Wilkerson (Miller).
Nijay Gaines helped Des Moines (Iowa) High School to a 4A runner up finish last season, where she averaged 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The 5-11 guard/forward is one of three Division I recruits on her high school team. She is also a former teammate of current Lady Bear Tia Mays.
