New Music Tuesday: Jeremy Larson’s project Fort Christmas

Fort Christmas Feathers 250x250 New Music Tuesday: Jeremy Larsons project Fort ChristmasJeremy Larson is a seriously busy man. The popular SGF-based songwriter is hard at work producing other acts (including Cornbelt Chorus and Focus! Focus! locally) and crafting a new full-length of his own work. Since a finished Jeremy Larson album is still some time away, however, Larson decided to put something together to whet the appetites of fans while also making a sort of musical time capsule of this period in his personal life. (Larson recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Elsie.) The result is the side project Fort Christmas, a name under which Larson wrote and performed five songs to make an EP titled Feathers. As Larson explains on his blog, the EP is a chronological recounting of his life with his fiancée from first meeting to present day, as well as a mental pause from the involved work of making the next album under his own name. It’s also a very different take on Larson’s airy, keyboard-derived sound, more upbeat and less layered. You can click here to listen to and purchase Fort Christmas’s Feathers for $5 on Bandcamp.
