This Is Our Youth opens Thursday at Drury's Studio Theatre
This Is Our Youth follows Warren Straub through 48 hours of his life as he tries to figure out what to do with 15-thousand dollars in stolen cash. Straub gets direction from Dennis Ziegler a drug-dealing friend and his love interest Jessica Goldman.
Straub, played by Drew Nungesser, is a college dropout searching for the right path. Stage Manager Paige Deragowski said, “it’s more of his journey trying to get everything he wants, but he’s not sure how.”
Ziegler is played by Ben Watt, while Merry Yeager plays the role Goldman. This Is Our Youth opens Thursday, August 26, at 8 p.m. at Drury’s Studio Theatre in Springfield Hall with performances on Friday and Saturday, also at 8 p.m. All performances are free.
“People should expect to walk in and remember parts of their youth that they don’t want people to know about,” Deragowski said. “It’s very bold and open.”
Directed by Greg Marshall, the show contains mature dialogue and content, while testing the struggle to simultaneously resist and attain adulthood.
