It’s not your typical news post, but for the sake of the music community I’m writing about it anyway, because there is nothing I hate more than when hardworking bands have their equipment stolen by opportunistic jerks, thereby taking away from not only a musician’s passion but your ability to enjoy a show, dear reader. It has been a long time since I heard of a case of stolen gear, but one came across my eyes this morning, courtesy of E.B. Cox of local rock group Assembly Line Gods:
“So our practice space was broken into and one of my guitars and a guitar that belongs to the guys from Tokyo Sauna were taken. Mine was a yellow Squier Showmaster with black flames:
and the one from Tokyo Sauna was a red Fender Strat with a perloid pick guard and EMG pickups (similar to, but not exactly like, this; we’re working on getting an actual photo of the guitar from the band–Ed.):
If you see these in any pawn… shops/music stores, maybe you’ll hit up myself or Greg/Chuck from Tokyo Sauna.”
Here’s where you, the reader, come in. I don’t imagine you drop in on pawn shops frequently (the bands are making the rounds there anyway), but keep your eyes peeled elsewhere, too. One never knows when or where these things will turn up. If you have any tips or leads or other assistance, you can contact the owners of the gear at contact@assemblylinegods.com. With your watchful eyes perhaps we can put an end to such sad, damaging crimes.
