Branson finally gets to rep it: Video of Nelly’s press conference on his upcoming show
This was sent to me yesterday but I didn’t have time to post it. Since it’s still amusing a day later, I’ll do so now. The last time Nelly performed in Southwest Missouri was at The Shrine Mosque at the height of his career. “E.I.,” “Hot In Herre” and “Dilemma” are a few years in the rearview now, but Nelly is returning to the region and making headlines in doing so. Why? He’s coming to The Grand Palace in Branson August 21.
Yes, Branson, which hasn’t had a hip hop concert to speak of since… well, has it ever had one? It’s a bold move to book a rap show at The Grand Palace, but then one could argue Nelly is a man who could benefit from a bold move at this point in St. Louis-based rapper’s career. It could be a beneficial move for The Grand Palace as well, given its 4,000 seats–more than any currently active SGF venue save JQH Arena–and a need to fill them. Will it work? Would you make the road trip to see him? Check out the press conference video below and chime in in the comments section.
