CONFIRMED: The Ozark Mountain Daredevils return to Gillioz Theatre

It was surprising enough to see The Ozark Mountain Daredevils performing together again earlier this spring, but one couldn’t help feeling a little strange when seeing the Springfield-based classic rock group playing Branson and Kansas City without a corresponding home-town gig. Word officially came down today that there will be a Springfield concert for the Daredevils–two, in fact. Following up on the band’s three-show stand at the historic Gillioz Theatre in 2006 the Daredevils will play back-to-back nights at the Gillioz again September 10 and 11. Both show times are set for 8:15 p.m.

The concerts are organized in conjunction with the Springfield premiere of the documentary film Cowtown Ballroom… Sweet Jesus, about the famous Kansas City music club of the ’70s, a room the Daredevils played a total of five times in the Cowtown’s three-year existence. Tickets go on sale this Friday at the Gillioz Theatre box office or online at the theatre’s website and will cost $49.50, $59.50 or $69.50, depending on where you choose to sit.
