The Show Report, 5/28: Your holiday starts NOW

Holiday 250x187 The Show Report, 5/28: Your holiday starts NOWIt’s a holiday weekend in Springfield, but rather than put on frilly outfits and tell you to celebrate we’re going to just tell you where the party is at. If you’re ready to kick it off early, start at Houlihan’s for our weekly TAG Patio Party with host Jimi James of Jah Roots Band and crazy-good drinks ($4 Long Island iced tea pitchers, half-off drafts, $3 wells). We’ll also be setting up your party for tomorrow: During the show we’re giving away three pairs of tickets to tomorrow’s 6:10 p.m. Springfield Cardinals game against San Antonio. The specials start at 4 p.m., music starts about 7 and both continue well into the night.

As night descends, you’ll find an epic dance party at The Outland Ballroom, the undead onstage at Lindberg’s and a whole lot more:

* Black Box Revue with guest London Calling at The Outland Ballroom. BBR’s monthly upstairs gig welcomes the St. Louis-based video DJs for what should be a tremendous show. This is the kind of event the Ballroom upgraded its light system for.

* The BoogeyMen at Lindberg’s

* The Shotgun Brothers Band and The Lowdown Fancy at The High Life Live Martini Lounge

* Ghost Dance at The Outland

* Shawn Eckels and Marcus Chatman of Speakeasy at Coyote’s Adobe Cafe

* Portrait of Authority, Rogue Nation and Knife*Death at The Ugly Mug Live Music Tavern

* Michael Oettle of Bender at Da Cubby Hole

* Ride Shy at Dennis’ Place

* Downtown Papa Brown at Mille’s Turn of the Century Cafe

* Last Mile at Townhouse II

* N 2 Deep at W.F. Cody’s South

* Organic Soul at Springfield Brewing Company

* Souled Out with Vic Vaughan at Three 20′s Club

* The ABS Band at Cartoons

* The Fabulous Unexpected at The Daily Pub
