As a junior at Missouri State, Lauren Sweetser sat down for a table reading of Winter’s Bone. Not long after, she found herself in the film as Gail, the best friend of Ree, the film’s main character. Now, Winter’s Bone has become a Sundance Film Festival phenomenon and she is hoping to capitalize and launch a successful career.
After a 450-person Springfield screening at MSU’s Plaster Student Union on Friday, Sweetser took some time to talk to TAGsgf.com about how she got involved in the film, her thoughts on the finished product and dreams of a Hollywood career.
