Former SGF Cardinal Brandon Dickson has a strong seven-inning outing for Triple-A Memphis, which also got two hits from Daniel Descalso. Danny D is likely just one Skip Schumaker injury away from St. Louis. … The SGF Cards lost again to NW Arkansas, despite solo home runs from 3B Andrew Brown and C Steven Hill. … RHP Casey Mulligan earned his ninth save for High-A Palm Beach, as OF Tommy Pham homered. … St. Louis’ top prospect, RHP Shelby Miller was uneven in his start for Low-A Quad Cities, giving up four runs (two earned) in three innings. He struck out five in the loss.
Transaction news: RHP Francisco Samuel was activated from the FL and placed at High-A Palm Beach. … C Bryan Anderson was optioned back to Triple-A, as C Jason LaRue was activated to the St. Louis roster from the DL. Anderson makes Memphis’ roster complete again.
