Highlights from today’s SGF City Council meeting (according to the minutes from the city):
* Runway model: The Springfield-Branson National Airport is receiving a federal aviation grant ($859,856.00) through the city “for the purpose of providing funds for the Phase I Design – Rehabilitation of Runway 14/32.”
* Got gas?: SGF will seek a “grant ($1,262,000) funded from the United States Department of Energy (DOE), through the National Energy Technology Laboratory, for the purpose of funding the construction of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Facility.”
* Cameras tabled again: City Council seeks public input regarding how to address the red-light camera. They decided “to wait until the end of the Missouri General Assembly session in May before taking the next step on red light cameras, pending possible action at the state level.”
* Budget cuts coming: “A bill will go before Council at its May 17 meeting to adjust the budget for $1,580,233 in cuts following revenue shortfall in the third quarter”
