If you’re talking about a live show in Springfield and find yourself mentioning werewolves, Mexican wrestling masks and the undead, you’re probably talking about The BoogeyMen. (At least I hope you are.) The seven masked members comprise one of SGF’s more unusual shows, playing instrumental music that takes influence from surf rock, ’50s “B” horror movie film scores and the galloping orchestral pieces of Ennio Morricone. It’s a gas on any night, but last Friday’s concert at Lindberg’s was a special occasion, with Daniel Maple (who plays El Coyote de la Muerte in the band; don’t tell anybody) celebrating his birthday by playing onstage all night. So what does a band of assumed characters do to ratchet up the b-day party of one of its own? We have a couple of videos below for you to find out:
