There aren’t many opportunities to see the Missouri State Bears go head-to-head with the Missouri Tigers at anything, and arguably the most high profile of these comes during baseball season. Not only is it the biggest stage they meet on (the basketball rivalry was kiboshed years ago, and the hockey teams get nowhere near the same publicity), but they meet as true equals. Coach Keith Guttin‘s MSU ballclub is evenly split in wins all-time with Mizzou with 19 wins for each. Tonight will break that deadlock, and although the win-loss records favor the Tigers (18-13, compared to Missouri State’s Missouri Valley Conference-worst 12-20) the vital team statistics point to a hotter Bears club (3.88 staff ERA, .324 team batting average coming into the home stand).
