New monthly comedy showcase debuts Tuesday

There are more than nine performers confirmed for the first-ever Laughing Stock with Merr at the Outland on the first Tuesday of every month. According to the monthly event’s host, Mark Archambeault (Comedian Merr), there has been a great early response from SGF’s funny people and this week’s acts range from music to standup with a handful of improv and sketch groups in the mix, as well. “There’s a little bit of everything,” Archambeault said. Laughing Stock is hoped to serve as a bit of a forum where comedians can work on timing or try out new material. The goal is to get more people involved and ultimately build the local comedy scene. As time allows, anybody who walks in will be able to test material. “Get there early and find Merr … won’t be too hard to find,” he said, then chuckled. “The very first one – history in the making.”
