As the Missouri State men’s basketball team heads into a must-win game Saturday at Indiana State, I thought it was a great time to bring in someone who can help us break down the Bears’ season thus far.

Good stuff, guys. No matter what happens I’m really looking forward to the coming weeks should the Bears win Saturday and avoid the play-in. Winning the MVC tourney would be stellar but, more realistically, a strong showing and an NIT bid means a potential post-season home game. That’s one of the few redeeming factors of the NIT — fans get to show up and be part of a post-season atmosphere at the home court. And at the point in the cycle where a program is on the upswing – like right now – you really don’t have any reason to feel let down or cheated if the team is in the NIT. It was quite a bit different when the team seemed to be TOPPING OUT in the NIT, though. Hopefully Coach Martin and the Bears can use any non-Dance post-season experience as a stepping stone.
