TAG vs. Food: 50 Nugget Challenge

Nugget Challenge 250x187 TAG vs. Food: 50 Nugget Challenge

TAGSGFers toast their first nugget as the timer starts for the 50 Nugget Challenge

The challenge: Eat 50 Nuggets in 15 minutes, keep them down for next 45. TAGSGFERs Allen, Brett, Chris, and Scott each battled 50 nuggets. Who survived?

  1. Chris – 50 in 13 mins
  2. Brett – 50 in 15 mins
  3. Scott – 31 in 15 mins
  4. Allen – 27 in 15 mins

Can u eat 50 nuggets quicker?

So far we’ve had one SGFer take on the challenge and dominate. Jon Beagley (a.k.a. “Cornbread” on Q102) took on the challenge and beat all of us with an 11 min time. He documented it as proof. You can check out the video on Facebook.

My advice? Just don’t do it. There’s nothing right about it. However, if you must … document it and send us the proof of how you fared.

TAG = pwnd. Nice work, Cornbread. If I had a trophy, I’d happily pass it on to you. Instead, I just hope your stomach didn’t go all El Nino on the rest of your body the way mine did a few hours later.

to be absolutely honest, i felt quite normal after this. felt no backlash. i wasnt hungry again for about 10 hours, but when i was, i ate a large pepperoni and an order of jalapeno cheese bread by myself. i eat a lot on a regular basis, the only difficult part to this challenge was eating so fast.

i talked to scott and feel i could eat 100 in an hour or hour and a half easily. i would go ahead and prove it, but im not going to spend $20 on nuggets today, nor make a video that long without plenty of witnesses so i could chop it up.

Jon – I am thoroughly impressed with your McNugget prowess. The grease destroyed my gut which is just now returning to status quo. The next challenge is likely to be Boomers 4 lb. burger. It seems like even more of a lock and less physical pain (for those not named Cornbread).

yeah i should probably give it a shot too.

Man, I’m getting ill just thinking about it. Even a normal amount of McDonald’s makes me feel a little weird for a few hours.

Yeah no kidding. My 31 ripped me apart for 3 days. This was a bad idea haha, but it was silly fun. We’re starting this whole series of TAG vs. Food now…need more challenges!!! Know any?

What about some kind of hot/spicy challenge? Adobe, Wild Wings or the new place on National north of Walnut all have some nuclear wings, don’t they?

minsky’s has the 42 inch pizza 2 person 1 hour challenge, and from a guy who can eat 2 1/2 pizza mia’s of pizza hut’s 5-5-5 deal, (that’s 2 1/2 medium pizzas in one sitting) i’ve got my share covered, just need a copilot.

BWWs has the 2 minute challenge IIRC on it’s hottest wings. As a regular habanero eater I need to go clean house.

The 4 pound burger at boomer’s sounds difficult. a lot of the food challenges i’ve managed to best, are simply because the food is dense. the absolute hardest part of competitive eating is trying to squash the bread in your stomach. carbohydrates will DQ you every time. which leads me to….

Lamplighter Inn’s 15 egg omelette. it’s got green peppers, ham, onion, tomato, sausage, bacon. but like i said, carbohydrates are the worst. 2 orders of hash browns and 2 orders of toast. THIRTY MINUTES this would literally be a nonstop bite after bite challenge, and in my opinion the pinnacle of springfield’s eating feats. one day my friends… one day.

look for more from me in the future… when i can afford it, lol!
