Mike Brothers
With today’s big (dare we say, must-win) home game with Creighton, I felt it was time to take the temperature of Missouri State men’s basketball fans. Thus, it’s time to introduce TagSGF.com friend Mike Brothers to the readership and listenership.
If you’re not familiar with Brothers, he’s currently a part of the City of Springfield’s communication department, but is a former reporter with the Springfield News-Leader. Brothers used to cover the music scene, as well as other Life and Times-related topics.
But, first and foremost, Brothers is the most loyal MSU men’s basketball fans I’ve seen. While he is an MSU alum and certainly doesn’t speak for all MSU fans, his observations are a refreshing mix of rational and laidback. He doesn’t claim to be a huge Xs and Os guy, but I’ve found his reasoning to be valuable over the years, whether it’s college basketball, new music or video games. Need even more credibility? I caught up with Brothers at Boomers Campus Sports Bar and Grill (also the location of our Super Bowl watch party!) recently to discuss all things MSU basketball. You’ll notice some background noise, which gives it a sports-bar feel, especially when the St. Louis Blues fans reacted to a goal when we recorded this Thursday night, as well as our waitress who tried to keep our beverages full.
