If you don’t have a Kangol bucket hat and shell-toed shoes, you had better get to the store. We’re out to kick it old school tonight, and we’re bringing the big guns to do it. Black Box Revue moves upstairs from The Outland to The Outland Ballroom tonight, teaming up with a longtime leading light in the Springfield DJ community, DJ P, to welcome electro-rap legends Egyptian Lover and Jamie Jupiter. Egyptian Lover worked with Ice-T in the early years of his career and was the man on the turntables for the much-sought-after Jamie Jupiter classic “Computer Power.” Black Box is a natural fit for this much electronically instigated booty-shake, and DJ P brings his mashup-making sensibilities and respect for classic hip hop to the table to round out the lineup. Worried you won’t be able to keep up with the crazy dance skills in the room? Maybe this guy can help you fix that.
