An exciting night for local music is just a few weeks away. Okay, there are other exciting nights for local music coming much sooner than that, but this exciting night is ours: February 4 is the next TAG Magazine showcase at Lindberg’s, and it will be a special treat with two bands that truly belong on one of the city’s most historic stages. The North Decade, one of the scene stealers at last fall’s FourFourFest (and a two-time participant of the event) and author of the fantastic “Middle Man” (an oversight in our Songs of 2009 post, disturbingly), returns to the Lindberg’s stage where it arguably seems most at home.
The night will also mark the debut performance for local all-star group The Guns, the brainchild of Rugs guitarist Eric Schuchmann and featuring Trent Wilson (The BoogeyMen) on guitar, Jeb Venable (The Cropdusters, Sweetwater Abilene) on bass and Brian Azevedo (The Cropdusters, Sweetwater Abilene) on drums. Not up to speed on The Guns? You’re in luck; the band just released its debut EP, Silencer, and it’s available on Amazon right now. Consider it your primer for February 4, when the party really gets underway.
