Tournament of Champions countdown: It’s tomorrow!

TofC.logo 4 250x186 Tournament of Champions countdown: Its tomorrow! In an effort to keep my insatiable appetite for Thursday’s unveiling on the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in check, here is our hump day update for T of C week.

• Who was the last, true basketball great to emerge from the St. Louis area? David Lee?  The next might be Chaminade’s Brad Beal. The News-Leader’s Straight Flush Michael Stacy writes about Beal in today’s editions.

• Possibly the most overlooked team in this year’s field, simply because it was last year’s field, Memphis White Station features one of the country’s most dynamic talent. And just like Miller’s Hannah Wilkerson continues to climb the Missouri scoring charts, future Memphis Tiger Joe Jackson is stalking some great names on Memphis and Shelby County’s scoring list: Anfernee Hardaway, Thaddeus Young, Elliot Perry, etc. It’s esteemed company, for sure.

• The Atlanta Journal Constitution released its latest high school hoops rankings and if there was any doubt how revered Milton (Ga.) is, these should send chills up every opponent’s spine.

• We’ve been providing this linkfest all week, but if you missed yesterday’s edition, click here. If you missed Monday’s Tournament of Champions Party Starter, click here.

• Of course, if you missed our Ultimate Tournament of Champions Guide, it’s a must-read. It’s considered an appetizer, but it satisfies like a full meal. Click the link above, if you haven’t already. It gives you everything you need to know about the out-of-town teams, including bios on the studs, plus Web links and videos. If you love it, tell a friend.
