Ladies and gentlemen, the Whiskey River is about to flow through Springfield. Willie Nelson, one of the faces on the Mount Rushmore of country music in the second half of the 20th Century, will be playing The Shrine Mosque February 20, according to Nelson’s website. Ticket details aren’t available yet, but just the thought of hearing hits such as “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” and “Always On My Mind” gets us more than a little excited. It’s also worth noting that with Nelson coming to town on the 20th and Kris Kristofferson playing Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on February 10, Springfield will host the two living members of The Highwaymen in the same month (R.I.P. Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings), which justifies us linking to this video. Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
